THE NUMBERS AND FACTS DON’T LIE, PLANT BASED FOODS ARE THE FUTURE.
According to data, businesses can’t afford to ignore this global trend. AUSTRALIAN’S ARE GOOGLING ‘VEGAN’ MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD. So, if you aren’t offering plant-based options for your customers, you’re missing out on major sales.
Plant-based eating in all its forms is a rapidly flourishing way of life as many people turn toward it for their health and vitality and the positive effect it has on the planet. Beyond those who would put themselves into categories, many people in the everyday arena are also looking for vibrant, modern and interesting foods that seem to be synonymous with the vegan/ plant-based genre. Research conducted by Roy Morgan has found that the trend in vegan and vegetarian eating continues to grow — with 2.5 million people (12.1% of the population) in Australia now eating all or almost all vegetarian. Many non vegans are also just as interested in fresh, healthy and on-trend food and by providing plant-based options you also provide options for those with allergies and food sensitivities.
To add weight, many mainstream health organisations now recommend a plant-based diet. Including Kaiser Permanente, the largest healthcare organization in the U.S, The American Institute for Cancer Research and Australia’s peak health body, The NH&MRC (National Health and Medical Research Council), has recognised that a plant-based vegan diet is a viable option for all Australians. Australia’s top health experts are now in agreement with those in the USA and Canada that well-planned plant-based diets are healthy, nutritionally adequate and are appropriate for all stages of the lifecycle.
